CCP has pretty good anti-cheat prevention systems. Pretty much the only way to "cheat" is have bots (easy as hell to fight), or find something wrong in the stats, and work off of it in your fit.

- Client Hackers - These people try to find ways to manipulate the files in the client in an effort to circumvent the system. This can easily be countered by implementing a client-side checker that scans key files for any attempt at data manipulation. Even the data manipulated through the memory can be detected. This is one way of tracking a cheater. If they somehow avoid the scan, then behavior tracking is used. Trends, patterns, and other aspects of human behavior can be used to track and flag cheaters who somehow avoid the client-side scans. This is often used to track market bots, mission bots, mining bots, RMT rings, etc.
- Account Hackers - These are people who are often involved in RMT rings who somehow gain access to individual accounts and then clean those accounts of any ISK, assets, as well as selling off the characters of those accounts for however much ISK they can get for later selling in RMT rings. Usually this happens as a result of using botting software that cheaters buy from an unknown software seller. The botting software is always packaged with key loggers and other malware that these unknown sellers use to gain access to the account.
Considering that Legion will likely use the same client-server setup that Eve Online has, and if Steam gets involved, then cheaters will likely be kept to a minimum. But just remember that no measure is full proof. There will always be that one cheater who circumvents the system and thus the developers have to make a new counter to those counters. It's a never ending cycle. The best course of action is to mitigate the problem. Riiight. Because bf4, dayz, rust, ect are all on steam as well and are having noo issues with hackers. The fact is. Hackers are better at staying ahead of the game than developers are, especially on PC, and for obvious reasons. I really dont think CCP is going to be able to stop them. So if you plan on playing Legion, you better start looking at some hacker sites to compete.
All those games can be purchased on other sites..............

Ugh, CCP already has 11 years experience tackling client modification, and these days there are many excellent statistical anti-cheat systems out there - those are much harder to avoid. Plus, y'know, the whole 'consoles have their fair share of cheaters too' thing. Ultima Online has 15+ years of experience, guess what, they still have speed hackers. Yup 15+ years and still haven't been able to stop them. If EA cant do it, what makes you think CCP can? Edit for godin: legion wont be able to be bought through other sites? Just like eve can only be bought through steam right?
Last time I checked, EVE could be downloaded from their site, or through steam. And as I've said, There's little/no hacking in EVE, and most of it is ingame, because of oversights.
If EVE had hacking problems, then I'd say okay. But EVE doesn't, so I call bullshit.

Eve isn't an FPS. There is very little to hack in MMO's. Bots are more common in games like EvE. I take it you dont play many PC shooters. If you did, you would know how many ways that community has found to hack FPSs. The FPS community on PC is by far the worst bunch of players I have ever seen. Speed hacks, wall hacks, aim bots, jump (fly) hacks.. the list goes on. None of those even have a place in an MMORPGs (like EvE,) but are rampant in PC FPS, way more than on console.
speed hacks and aim bots would most certainly help in EVE. Both of those actually existed in EVE. Guess what? Both were ingame, available for anyone to use. I don't think you realize how good CCP is with cheat prevention.

No, they wouldn't. Aim botting in EVE is such a laughable suggestion I suspect you're not serious.
this is as close you can get to a aimbot in EVE, all of which is done ingame.
Again, do you guys live under rocks?
